Keep your slime
soft & stretchy.
A little care goes a long way. Follow these steps and your Abi's Slime Lab jars will stay fresh, fluffy and satisfying for months.
How to store your slime
Seal it airtight
Press the lid down firmly so no air sneaks in. Slime left open dries out and hardens within hours.
Keep it cool
Store at room temperature away from direct sunlight and heat. A cupboard or drawer is perfect, never the fridge.
Avoid the sun
UV fades the colour and melts the texture. Keep jars in a shaded spot, especially our clear and icee slimes.
Wash hands first
Play with clean, dry hands. Lotion, dirt and dust stick to slime and break it down over time.
If your slime gets sticky
Sticky slime just means it needs re-activating, which is totally normal. Follow these four steps and it'll bounce right back.
- 01
Add a few drops of activator
Sprinkle 1–2 drops of our slime activator (or contact lens solution + baking soda) onto the slime.
- 02
Knead it in slowly
Work the activator through with your fingertips for about a minute. Don't rush, over-activating makes it rubbery.
- 03
Rest, then re-check
Let it sit for 2 minutes, then stretch it. Still sticky? Repeat with one more drop at a time.
- 04
Store it right
Once it's stretchy and not tacky, seal it airtight so it stays fresh for your next play session.
Common questions
My slime melted and is too runny
It's over-activated or too warm. Knead in a pinch of borax powder or a few drops of activator, then chill the jar in a cool room for 10 minutes.
There's a hard crust on top
Air got in. Peel off the dry layer, then knead the rest with one drop of activator to bring the texture back. Always press the lid fully closed.
It lost its scent
Scent fades with play. Add one drop of skin-safe fragrance oil and knead it through. We sell refresher oils in the lab.
